Wondering where the year went? So are we! We’re officially down to about 2 months left in 2021. And at this point in the year, we all have a decision to make:
- Option #1: Coast through the rest of the year and wait to get re-motivated during New Year’s Resolution time.
- Option #2: Focus on finishing the year strong!
We hope you choose the latter because there is still plenty of time left in the year to reach your goals! And even if you don’t reach them by December 31, by choosing to focus right now, you’ll have well-established momentum heading into January. So, let’s finish these last 2 months strong … here’s our advice!
Revisit your resolutions.
Let’s take a trip all the way back to January 1 of this year. Maybe you have notes in your phone of all the things you planned to do in 2021. And maybe some of your resolutions have held up (good for you!). But if they haven’t, it’s not the end of the world. This is your chance to reflect and create a plan to move forward!
One of your resolutions might have been to get into an exercise routine. Well, with 2 months left in the year, you can still make that goal happen (check out some of our favorite boredom-breaking workouts here)! Or maybe you planned to read a book every month. Guess what? There’s still time to do that, too! Who said that your motivation come on January 1? Start today!
Especially around this time of year, it’s easy to let loss of motivation hinder you from getting things done. The old “I’ll do it tomorrow” mentality kicks in … and it’s hard to stop it when it does. So, how can you get re-inspired when you find yourself down the rabbit hole of procrastination? Here are some ideas:
- Get rid of distractions (your phone distracts you even when you’re not using it!).
- Hit the hardest tasks first (you know … those ones that you really don’t want to do 😉).
- Change your environment! If you usually sit at your desk, try moving to another room if you can. Or, revamp your workspace with these tips.
- Spend time with people who motivate you and hold you accountable.
Procrastination is a tough task to tackle. However, if you’re serious about going out with a bang in 2021, it’s worth taking the steps to hit your goals!
Focus on your attitude.
At the end of the day, you can come up with the best plan for finishing this year on a high note. Get organized, get motivated, and get serious about your goals. But if you’re not doing it all with a positive attitude, it’ll be tougher than necessary. A good attitude has been linked to self-confidence, creativity, stronger relationships, and less anxiety. Plus, let’s not forget the fact that happy people are easier to work with!
So, whoever said, “attitude is everything” wasn’t lying. In fact, that person may have given you the most important advice in reaching your goals for this year and beyond. Check out this article for some tips on changing your attitude to change your life!
