Reboot Your Brain with a Mindset Reset

Let's do a quick mindset check-in!

We often get caught in the go, go, go of each day and forget to check in with ourselves. But somewhere between the days of back-to-back meetings and overflowing inboxes, it’s easy for your mindset to quietly slip into survival mode.

You may be getting things done and checking off those boxes on your to-do list, but are you truly thriving? Or just surviving? It’s time to hit “refresh” on your mental browser to move forward with more energy and mental clarity, just in time for spring!

Notice when you're running on autopilot.

We’re (finally!) coming out of the depths of winter, and during those dark and cold months, it often feels like the days blend together, right? Again, that’s why we’re here for this reset!

Running on autopilot isn’t necessarily bad and it definitely helps us get through busy seasons of life, but staying there too long is a sure way to drain your energy and creativity. Step 1: Be aware when this happens!

Reframe the narrative.

The negativity bias is real, for every single one of us (read all about it, here). How many times a day do you find yourself thinking “This is going to be a disaster” or “I’m already behind”? We’re willing to bet it’s more times than you think!

It’s time to rewrite that script. Try to catch yourself in your moments of negativity and swap out negative thoughts like, “I have to do this” with “I get to work on this.” It’s a small shift, but it changes how your brain shows up to the task.

Shrink your focus.

When everything feels urgent, nothing feels manageable. A reset starts with zooming in. You don’t have to worry about how your entire week is going to play out right now, just focus on the next right step. One email, one meeting, one decision at a time.

Momentum loves clarity! And clarity comes when you choose to simplify what’s right in front of you.

Interrupt your routine, just a little.

Let’s get a little uncomfortable, shall we? As much as we all love a routine, sometimes you just need a pattern break, like a walk between meetings or changing where you sit at a coffee shop.

Small disruptions wake up your brain and remind you that not every day has to feel the same. In fact, they shouldn’t!

Redefine "productive."

Productivity comes down to one thing: sustainability. Let go of the idea that being exhausted means being effective. Rest, boundaries, and realistic expectations are your go-to tools for long-term performance!

The goal is a flexible mindset. Some days, you’ll feel focused and on top of the world, and other days, you won’t. A successful reset gives you the ability to course-correct yourself without judgement. When things start to feel heavy again (because they will) take the time to intentionally reset yourself to move forward with intention.
